sunshine in the garden

Well this sunshine is hanging around isn't it......Sat out in the sunshine making brooches....

The leaves were rustling, the sun shining and the birds chirping away.......
Made quite a few of these lovely little flower corsages.............
I like the one with the Cath Kidston colours...might keep that one for myself....... the hubster likes the apple tree one
And poppy likes the blue garland one..which one do you like the best?

happiness.....

Doesn't the sun shine lift you......make you happy, although I must admit that the hubster coming home with this little surprise for me made me very happy indeed........
As did getting my china down from the attic at long last......
It was a bit like Christmas unwrapping all my cups....and saucers and cake stands and tea pots.....
And as you can see I have gotten down to using them all again in the blink of an eye...Here is my one and only yellow tea cup......why do I only have one yellow tea cup ........when i love yellow tea cups so much???? I must admit I do not know!
My friends have enjoyed picking their own  tea cups when they come around......
And i am enjoying my breakfasts on a tray again......
As its now summer I cracked out my china scone basket........
And made a Devon cream tea........
 Is there anything nicer......
Been busy making one of my favourite jams
 Elderflower.......
And here is a bunch of elderflowers soaking for cordial.....
My whole house smelt of elderflowers which I love but the husband kept complaining it stunk of cat's wee.....

My latest vintage finds were this lovely art nouveau mirror
Which is sadly lacking a mirror bit.... but I couldn't resist it for the beautiful detailing
and this set of Brambley Hedge plates......
Which one is your favourite season......I love spring....

 I love summer too ......

But Autumn is my most favourite month of all....

Along with winter.... I must admit .... am a bit of a snuggler......

And last but not least this lovely hand embroidered Radio Times cover....
What beautiful detailing.............. Hope that you are all enjoying this beautiful summer weather too.....time to crack out the iced tea, the home made lemonade and the Pimm's I think!

Elderflower Hunt.

Isn't the weather glorious....we all went out on an elderflower hunt...to make a jam and cordial....

 And we found lots......
Personally I love the smell of elderflowers but the hubby complains that they smell of cats wee.......
I had a little helper eager to carry my basket.
We sat down in a meadow for a rest and before we knew it the girlies had a crown made from meadow grasses and wild flowers, including clovers, queen anns lace, dandelions and daisies.
The girls loved them .....when we got home we put the elderflower heads to soak for three days before we can make out lovely jam x x x
Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful sunshine too x xx

And so have we ,we went for a picnic on The Byes.......

We were interrupted by someone...a great big wriggly room that was handled lovely till it pooped on them!
Esme and Patience love running around outside......

And they love their dressing up box, they will insist on going everywhere in  dressing up clothes.

And we rounded the day off searching for fairies in amongst the tree trunks.......we didn't find any but we found a fairy house and some fairy dust.....well the girls did!
